DraftKings is one of iHeartMedia's largest partners. I managed its campaigns for nearly three years, first as coordinator and then as project manager for the VP of Brand Partnerships, across broadcast radio, national premiere talent, local stations, digital, podcasts, streaming, and YouTube.
Goal
Deliver cohesive campaigns across every iHeart channel, grow the partnership, and turn performance data into recommendations that shaped what came next.
Approach
I led weekly meetings with the agency and internal channel teams to keep every channel aligned, chase down outstanding assets, and keep production moving. I worked closely with our production team, talent, producers, and podcast team so every spot and podcast deliverable was produced correctly and on schedule. I also built out local sponsorships across iHeart's network of 850+ stations, working with local sales executives and markets to create custom segments where DraftKings fit in naturally. Each integration was unique to its radio host, with its own promo code to measure performance, and was backed by social posts around key moments like the Super Bowl, the playoffs, and local NFL and NBA teams. At its peak, the program ran on over 300 stations across the US. Every week, I managed copy between DraftKings' agency and our talent, from radio hosts to podcast talent. Since each host had their own promo code and segment, every piece of copy was different, and I QA'd each one before it went out. I also built every order in iHeart's Ad+ system, making sure targeting and metrics were set up correctly. I worked closely with the sales team, pulling together media proposals and strategic recommendations from their inputs, then handled execution once campaigns were sold, tracking performance to optimize along the way. I met with the client every two weeks, built detailed recaps on our top stations, talent, and sponsorships, and tracked every piece of added value iHeart delivered, with weekly overviews and quarterly updates for the agency and client.
Outcome
Nearly three years of smooth execution on one of iHeart's largest partnerships, across radio, podcasts, YouTube, streaming, and local stations. I kept custom, host-specific integrations running every week on 300+ stations, alongside YouTube integrations on The Breakfast Club, The Bobby Bones Show, and This Is Important. Through local sponsorships with our local sales executives, I grew the account by $2.5 million, and the reporting behind every campaign, from weekly added value overviews to quarterly updates and a qualitative research recap, gave the client a clear view of what they were getting and where to go next.
